Mintz Levin’s Trademark & Copyright Practice has over 30 attorneys and other professionals focused on the overall protection of our client’s corporate copyright and trademark assets. We assist our clients with the prosecution, licensing, and enforcement of trademarks and provide counsel and strategy on trademark, Internet commerce, domain name piracy, false advertising, and unfair competition issues.

Our attorneys have written and spoken about trademark ownership topics extensively and have served as guest lecturers at universities and faculty members at trademark, copyright, and intellectual property seminars throughout the country. Susan is a Member based in the firm’s office in Washington, DC. Her practice focuses on intellectual property and related transactions and IP litigation, and she specializes in trademark, copyright, domain name, trade dress, and related areas of Internet, e-commerce, unfair competition, customs, and advertising law. She has written and contributed to numerous IP books and publications as well as served as an IP commentator on Court TV, in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and other national and regional publications. She frequently lectures about IP issues at universities and professional conferences and has served on the advisory boards of several intellectual property law publications. She has been named a DC Super Lawyer from 2006 to 2010, and has been listed in multiple editions of the Guide to the World’s Leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners. Susan has been awarded an AV® Preeminent™ rating by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

He has drafted and prosecuted patents for entities ranging from inventors to multinational corporations in such technical areas as clean technology, high technology, medical devices, aerospace, automotive and transportation, and food processing. A frequent speaker and writer about intellectual property issues, Carl has been recognized numerous times as a “Top Attorney” in San Diego by his peers, and in 2009, he was featured on the “40 Under 40” list in San Diego Metropolitan.

He has appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box and has served as a commentator on IP law on KCEO radio. He has also spoken about entertainment law at the University of San Diego. In 2008, he was named a “Top Attorney” for intellectual property litigation and intellectual property transactions by the San Diego Daily Transcript.
